Paolo’s career sits at the intersection of academia, central banking, entrepreneurship and digital-asset infrastructure.
He founded the UCL Centre for Blockchain Technologies and the UK Centre for Blockchain Technologies, through which he leads the research within the Ripple’s UBRI network. He also co-founded Quant Network, co-led Hedera’s tokenomics work, and previously served as Lead Economist for digital currencies at the Deutsche Bundesbank.
Paolo has advised the United Nations and G7 central banks on digital assets and financial innovation and is a named inventor on blockchain-related patents.
His academic work has long focused on systemic risk in financial markets, and that same thread runs through what he is building today.
