Curt Weldon is a Republican former U.S. congressman from Pennsylvania who served 10 terms in the House, from 1987 to 2007, representing Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District.
Before Congress, Weldon was a teacher, mayor of Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania, and a volunteer fire chief. In Washington, he became particularly involved in national security, defense, intelligence, emergency preparedness, and U.S.–Russia relations. He served on the House Armed Services Committee and chaired subcommittees dealing with military readiness and procurement.
One of the most controversial parts of Weldon’s public career involves his claims concerning Able Danger, a classified military data-mining program.
