KAA Becomes Public Limited Company: Kenya Airports Authority has officially transitioned to Kenya Airports Authority PLC. The change was announced on 27th August 2026 as part of ongoing State-Owned Enterprise reforms under the Government Owned Enterprises Act, 2025. The organisation was incorporated as a public limited company on 3rd June 2026 under the Companies Act, 2015. Officials say the new structure is meant to strengthen governance, accountability, commercial sustainability and operational performance. It also opens the door for the authority to list on the Nairobi Securities Exchange in future if it needs to raise funds for airport upgrades.
