naila's ravings: post #107 — TG.ME

there's one thing, which comes mostly from veiled women, it's the demonization of other women, the ones who do not wear the hijab. I've had quite a few conversations where hijabi girls would describe themselves as the "better girls" ("yaxshi qizla"), while those who do not cover were labeled as "weird and sometimes improper for our culture" ("g"alati, madamiyatimizga xardoimam to'g'ri kemidigon"). their judgment of girls/women who wear whatever they want reeks of jealousy and, is, in a way, a pathetic attempt to comfort themselves.
now, this isn't true 100% of the time, obviously. some women somehow happen to genuinely believe this.
but my point is that it veery often seems like they're just jealous, and speak so judgementally of those "immodest" women as a way to convince themselves they really enjoy being wrapped like a shawarma.
