You might know me as Zoir, but over the years, I’ve had quite a few names and nicknames.
My full name is Zoir Akramov Akhmadjon o‘g‘li (1). But my family has always called me “DO’DA” (2). I was born two months after my grandfather passed away, and I was named after him, which is why I was given his full name and surname. All three of my brothers’ surnames are – Zoirjonov, mine and my parents’ are – Akramov
At school, like many kids, I also ended up with a nickname: “Qoravoy” (3)
When I played football, though, I had a completely different nickname — “Buffon” (4). Back then, I made an excellent goalkeeper, and at that time Gianluigi Buffon was considered one of the best goalkeepers in the world. So, naturally, my teammates started calling me Buffon.
On Telegram, I go by “Zoir Koçovali” (5), inspired by the popular Turkish TV series — «Çukur»
And now there’s one more. Since I work in logistics and communicate with English-speaking drivers, I’ve chosen the name “Oliver” (6) because it’s short, simple and easy for English speakers to pronounce.
So, I guess I’ve had quite a name journey. 😂
— What nicknames have you had over the years, if you don’t mind sharing?
