“You know what I like about you?”
“What?”
“You’re never just one thing.”
She smiles.
“You can write something so beautiful it stays in my head all day, and five minutes later you’re making me laugh over something completely stupid.”
“And that’s a good thing?”
“It’s more than that.”
He pauses.
“You can be soft, ridiculous, thoughtful, serious… and somehow none of those versions cancel the others out.”
A small smile.
“I think that’s what makes you so rare. You’re not a collection of beautiful pieces.”
“You’re a whole person.”
