Nigeria has introduced new safety rules for instant bank payments. A mobile banking app can work on only one device at a time. When someone moves it to a new device, transfers are limited to ₦20,000 for the first 24 hours. This may stop a thief from quickly moving money. But it could also delay someone who lost or replaced their device and needs to make an urgent payment.
