Advanced Patterns: Part I (Flags and Pennants) 🚩🚩
Not all patterns are reversals. Continuation patterns are brief pauses where price builds energy before continuing its previous direction.
• Flags: A sharp move followed by a tight, sloping rectangular consolidation (like a flag on a pole).
• Pennants: A sharp move followed by a small, symmetrical triangle consolidation.
Both visually signal a "healthy pause" in the existing trend. Learn to identify the consolidation phase and practice recognizing when price moves past the consolidation boundary.
