all bronzes are definitely *not* created equal, but damn. a bronze gun? i would have a hard time trusting that. bronze receivers are still very common to this day for repros, and they work just as well as always, but having load bearing components like the barrel and cylinder as bronze? fuck dude. that's putting some serious trust in something nowhere near as strong as modern day steel. of course in 1870, metallurgy was still very shit, most "steel" was inconsistent and hard to work with so they could probably make an overall better product out of bronze anyway. i don't even think they had HSS yet.
