The project states that PostgreSQL is used for display optimization with parameterized queries, while financial operations remain on-chain. That division matters because a database can make an interface faster without becoming the final source of truth for balances, transfers, claims, or contract state.
This is a healthier Web3 pattern than forcing every interface event on-chain or, at the other extreme, asking users to trust a private database for financial outcomes.
