Mormonism and biblical Christianity do not worship the same God.
The Bible says God is eternally God, uncreated, and there is no God before or after Him (Isaiah 43:10).
Mormonism teaches that God the Father was once a man who progressed to godhood (source: Joseph Smith's 1844 "King Follett Discourse").
Those two beliefs cannot both be true.
This is not a minor denominational disagreement. It is a fundamentally different doctrine of God.
