ولدتك أمك يا ابن آدم باكيا
Oh ibn Adam! Your mother gave birth to you whilst crying!
و الناس حولك يضحكون سرورا
And the people surrounding you were laughing and joyful.
فاعمل ليوم أن تكون إذا بكوا
So work in good deeds for a day, in which they will cry
في يوم موتك ضاحكا مسرورا
So that you will be on the day of your death laughing and joyous.

The grave is no small matter!
_
Uthmaan رضي الله عنه would weep at seeing graves, and the people would ask him, you cry a little when hearing about Jannah and Jahannam, but when you hear about the grave you cry so much! Why?
He replied “The Grave is the first stage of the Akhirah, if it is good then the rest of the stages are easy, if it is bad then the rest of the stages are difficult”
[Tirmidhī]

By Allāh!
You will be asked in the grave
من ربك؟
Who is your Lord?
ما دينك؟
What is your religion?
من هذا الذي بعث فيكم؟
Who is this person who was sent amongst you?
_
Such easy questions that we find easy to testify on the tongue!
Allāh, Islam and Muhammad ﷺ
_
Yet, if we didn’t act according to this,
Doing good deeds with sincerity,
Following the Deen of Allāh ﷻ properly,
And the Sunnah of Prophet ﷺ
How will it be possible to answer correctly?
_
There is no lying in the grave!
There is no running away in the grave!
_
Imagine
We waste so much time in the Dunya going after irrelevant things,
But eventually we will be under the earth for longer than we were walking upon it... waiting for Qiyamah!
_
And there are only two ways our grave can be,
A garden from the gardens of paradise,
Or a pit from the pits of hellfire.
_
What have you done for the likes of this day?
What have you prepared?
Listen to Allāh!
He ﷻ says
لِمِثۡلِ هَـٰذَا فَلۡیَعۡمَلِ ٱلۡعَـٰمِلُونَ
For the likes of this (Jannah), let the workers work.
[37:61]
_
And Allāh ﷻ only exacts justice to his slaves!
وَلَا یَظۡلِمُ رَبُّكَ أَحَدࣰا
And your Lord does not wrong anyone.
[18:49]
_
So start changing now!
Repent!
Before you regret and have only yourself to blame!
Before you exclaim
ياليتني
Oh woe to me!
_
Ya ibn Adam! For how long will you remain heedless?!
_
Oh Allāh ﷻ! Save us from all punishments, and forgive all our sins and enter us into Jannah al Firdous. آمين
