Dear Colleagues,
Did you know that the FCC-ee may not only be an outstanding future collider, but that it could also support a broad & unique science programme profiting from its unique accelerators and particle beams ?
We are happy to announce a first workshop on “Other Science Opportunities at the FCC-ee” from Thursday 28 November morning to Friday 29 November 2024 mid day.
If you plan to join, please register at https://indico.cern.ch/event/1454873/ .
Four topical groups are being formed to look at different areas of science applications at the FCC-ee:
Photon science and photon applications including nuclear physics (FCC-ee booster as ultimate light source, collider-based Compton Backscattering Source, e+ linac combined with crystalline undulator? Harnessing the beamstrahlung for nuclear physics and others ) ; coordinated by S. Casalbuoni (EU-XFEL), John Byrd (LBNL), and F. Zimmermann (CERN)
[email protected] , [email protected] , [email protected]
HEP applications (e.g., QED, dark sector, ...) ; coordinated by G. Arduini (CERN) – [email protected]
e+ applications (e.g., surface science & material science, Ps BEC, 511 keV X-ray laser ); coordinated by B. Rienäcker (U Liverpool) and M. Doser (CERN)
[email protected] , [email protected]
Neutron science (based on the injector e- linac) and radionuclide production (exploiting the collider beamstrahlung); coordinated by M. Calviani (CERN)
[email protected]
If you have specific proposals or ideas that you wish to discuss, or if you just want to participate in these explorations, do not hesitate to contact one of the aforementioned coordinators.
We are counting on your experience and creative spirit !
Many thanks & best regards,
Julie Hadre
