JESUS CHRIST — THE PERFECT MAN
Psalm 8: Part 5
“But we see Jesus…” Heb. 2:9
This may be the most important statement in the entire study: “But we see Jesus…” Psalm 8 speaks about mankind.
But humanity has not yet fully experienced everything described in the Psalm. Heb. 2:8 says: “But now we see not yet all things put under him.” Then comes verse 9: “But we see Jesus…”
In other words:
Look at Jesus. Where humanity failed, Jesus succeeded. Adam was placed in a garden and disobeyed God. Jesus entered a fallen world and obeyed God.
Adam's disobedience brought death. Jesus' obedience brought salvation. Rom. 5:19
Jesus became the perfect representative of humanity.
He experienced genuine human weakness, suffering, temptation and death—yet without sin. Heb. 4:15
Key Lesson:
If you want to understand what humanity was created to become, look at Jesus Christ.
He is not merely our Saviour.
He is also the perfect revelation of what a human life completely surrendered to God looks like.
