Europe is the fastest-warming continent on Earth.
Today’s forecast average high temperatures, compared with the 1961–1990 climate baseline, show Europe experiencing the largest positive temperature anomaly among all continents.
Over the past three decades, Europe has warmed more than twice as fast as the global average, with increasingly frequent and intense heatwaves affecting regions from the Mediterranean to the Arctic. Today’s forecast reflects that long-term trend: Europe’s average high temperature is 3.5°C above its historical norm, the largest anomaly of any continent.
