Alhamdulillah, IIUMSU would like to update students on the recent discussion session with the Sports Development Committee (SDC) regarding gym accessibility, facility conditions, maintenance, and future sports development initiatives.
Key concerns from both male and female students’ surveys, including equipment conditions, cleanliness, and operating hours, were presented and acknowledged by the SDC for further consideration.
Among the proposals discussed were extending female gym operating hours, introducing more flexible hours for the male gym, and implementing Mahallah-based gym schedules. However, all suggestions remain under discussion and are subject to further evaluation, student feedback, safety considerations, operational feasibility, and official approval.
The SDC also shared that major renovations are conducted periodically, with ongoing weekly maintenance and cleanliness monitoring to improve students’ gym experience.
