Exactly one year ago, Ethiopian Blockchain Week happened for the first time.
The first Ethiopian Blockchain Week brought together 1,000+ attendees, 250+ volunteers, 15+ speakers, and 10+ media partners. It brought developers, founders, students, investors, researchers, creators, and blockchain enthusiasts into the same space to learn, exchange ideas, and explore what blockchain could look like in Ethiopia.
But EBW was never only about two days of talks.
It was about creating a platform for Ethiopian talent to connect with a global industry.
A year later, it is worth looking back at where it started, what the first edition represented, and how the conversation around blockchain in Ethiopia has continued to develop.
So, after one year, I wrote an article on the Ethiopian Blockchain Week website looking back at the first edition, what it represented, how the ecosystem has evolved, and what comes next.
