Fortune reports that a Zeki analysis found 19.2% of tracked DeepMind leavers over 12 months specialized in LLM or multimodal systems, versus 15.6% of joiners. It also found gains in robotics, embodied AI and machine learning for science.
Why it matters: this hiring mix can signal where a lab is building capacity—here, toward embodied and scientific AI. Public career data can lag, so it does not prove a roadmap or overall headcount decline.
