"High-quality sound" enthusiasts and audiophiles couldn't distinguish music transmitted through copper wire from... banana and mud.
The diyAudio forum conducted a fun test: participants were asked to listen to the same tracks and guess what they were played on. The options included an original CD recording, professional copper wire, 20 cm of wet mud, and a 13-cm banana. Only 6 out of 43 answers were correct.
A good song sounds good on a banana too.
