📊 Phoenix7 – Weekly Recap

This week was another reminder that trading is never a one-way street.

Anyone who expects every week to end in green will eventually be disappointed. Those who accept that pullbacks are part of every serious trading strategy are already thinking like investors rather than gamblers.

This week, several of our stop-losses were triggered. That naturally impacts performance—but that's exactly what stop-losses are designed for. We'd rather accept a small, controlled loss than allow a manageable setback to turn into an uncontrollable one.

Many strategies follow a different approach. Instead of cutting losses, they simply hold losing positions, hoping the market will eventually reverse. As long as that works, the equity curve often looks impressive. But when the market doesn't come back, small losses can quickly turn into drawdowns of 30%, 40%, or even more.

You can see this pattern repeatedly with some of the larger strategies that have many followers. High drawdowns are often accepted because losses are not consistently limited. That approach may work for a long time—until the day it doesn't.

We have deliberately chosen a different path. Every single trade at Phoenix7 is protected by a stop-loss. That doesn't mean we'll have a profitable week every time, but it does mean we always know our maximum risk before entering a trade. For us, that's the foundation of sustainable risk management.

Anyone who has followed our journey since launch knows that weaker weeks have been followed by strong recoveries more than once. Trading is never a straight line. What matters isn't the outcome of a single week, but the consistent execution of a strategy over months and years.

Next week starts from zero again. The market doesn't owe us anything. That's why we'll enter the new trading week without emotions—but with a clear plan.

Let's get back to work.
