RIPS Summer Internship in the United States | Fully Funded |
RIPS (Research in Industrial Projects for Students) is a fully funded summer internship. It focuses on applied mathematics, computer science, and data analysis. The program takes place at UCLA in Los Angeles. 
It lasts for 9 weeks from late June to late August. Students and recent Bachelor's graduates worldwide are fully eligible to apply!
What is RIPS?Participants work in teams on real-world projects. These projects come from major companies, research organizations, and government agencies. Teams solve industry problems using math methods and computing technologies.
Each team includes:
An academic mentor. A company sponsor representative. 3–4 smart students.
Application Requirements
Education:• The program is open to undergraduate seniors and recent graduates.
• Eligible fields: mathematics, applied math, computer science, engineering, or related disciplines.
Age:• Minimum age is 18 years old by the start of the program.
English Language Proficiency:
A high level of English proficiency is required (IELTS 6.5–7.0 or equivalent). You must communicate fluently, write scientific reports, and present your team's work.
Skills: Mandatory: Strong background in mathematics. Advantage: Coding skills, data analysis, numerical computation, and experience with Python or MATLAB.
Funding & BenefitsRIPS is a fully paid internship. It includes:
Stipend: Around $4,000 USD for the 9-week period.
Housing: Free accommodation on the UCLA campus.
Meals: A dedicated food allowance. Travel: Round-trip airfare to Los Angeles. Visa: Complete visa support for the J-1 exchange visitor visa.
