So I try to ask clients to give me the contacts of the place where client's print the finished works & they basically give you every necessary details but here some of the most important things to keep in mind & ask them:
1. Print sizes: that's ur artboards size
2. Change color modes to CMYK
3. Resolution 300dpi if ur looking for that crisp & detailed look (but u don't have to always use 300 for less detailed works 150 is another good alternative)
4. Bleed: (most places don't use bleed now a days but make sure to keep 3-5 mm away from the boarders when designing)
5. Files: The files you send to the printers must have an editable & expanded or non edited files. I usually send my files zipped & they include the fonts I used as well
6. Thickness of the paper for books (gsm)
