You said you were waiting for the 1st of January, right?
Well, it’s finally here!
The sad truth is that you still don’t feel as ready as you want to be.
And you’re already wondering if you should just wait until the 2nd of January.
Or maybe even the 6th of January, because that marks the start of a new week in the new year.
It’s understandable.
I’ve been there and still struggle with it once in a while.
The desire to have it all figured out before getting started.
The problem is:
You can’t always have it all figured out.
By the time you do, it’s often already too late to act.
It caused me to miss many opportunities in the past.
So I worked on myself to ensure I learned the basics required and got straight into action.
The outcome won’t always be perfect,
But starting gives you an edge – you get feedback that you can use to improve for a better outcome.
On Monday, the 30th of December 2024, I decided I would launch a community for those who want to grow their brands in 2025.
I didn’t overthink it.
I instantly created a WhatsApp group that morning, prepared content to share the good news, and launched it.
In less than 24 hours, 400 people joined the group, and over 60 people showed up live that evening for the launch event.
In the past, I wouldn’t have launched it.
I’d have thought, “I need time to think, create ‘great’ content, make outstanding designs, and so on.”
But not anymore!
The same thing happened with my newsletter.
After launching the community on the 30th, I decided I’d launch the newsletter the next day (31st December).
The moment I woke up, I set it all up.
I even stumbled on a roadblock.
I wanted to start with beehiiv as my newsletter hosting platform, but it kept saying it wasn’t available for my region.
I didn’t let that stop me.
I instantly opted for an alternative – Substack.
By the evening of the 31st of December, I launched the newsletter.
As I type this, the first letter I’ll be sharing on the 1st of January has already been scheduled.
I typed, edited, and scheduled it for 9 AM this morning.

As I learn and get ideas, I execute them.
The outcome might not always be favorable, but I learn from it, fine-tune my approach, and go again.
It doesn’t have to be perfect.
Getting started is what matters the most.
Practical Steps to Start Today:
1. Write down one thing you’ve been postponing because you feel unprepared.
2. Take the first actionable step toward it today, no matter how small.
3. Remind yourself that progress, not perfection, leads to growth.
This is 2025…
Drop the desire for perfection and the need to figure it all out before starting.
This year, if you crave better results, focus more on taking action.
Progress over perfection.
