Meaning that freedom is the foundation, and at the standpoint of the particular — to be bound up with universality, equality, at the horizon where this isn’t contradictory as in self-limited (individualism versus collectivism, civil society versus the state) but realized as self-contradiction. We are only free if each of us is free.
