Hi everyone, I'm excited to share the results of the 9-month recall, which I conducted today, for my very first case involving autotooth transplantation, on a 15-year-old female patient. Autotransplanted Tooth #48 (Replacing Severely Decayed #47) Tooth #48, was autotransplanted to the site of tooth #47. Tooth #47 was extracted due to severe decay during the same visit as the transplantation. After the extraction, the recipient site was prepared with some bone guttering. This was my first time performing an autotransplantation procedure. Fixation was achieved using sutures only. There is some tilted angulation of #48 post-transplantation, likely due to insufficient bone guttering on the mesial site. At today's 9-month recall, the recipient site has fully healed clinically and radiographically. However, there is no visible radiographic evidence of root formation on the transplanted tooth #48. Clinically, tooth #48 is currently out of occlusion (under-occlusion). Percussion test was within normal limits (eliciting a normal sound and response), and the cold test was also within normal limits (producing a transient, normal sensation). #case_study ๐๐ฆทโจ @dental_case_study ๐ฌ @dent_tech_for_u ๐
