Erythroplakia of the edge of the tongue An erythroplastic lesion, more commonly calledย erythroplakia, isย a red, velvety patch on the mucous membranes of the mouth, such as the tongue, floor of the mouth, or inner cheeks. While not all are cancerous, a significant number of these lesions are precancerous or are early signs of oral cancer, so any persistent one should be evaluated by a healthcare provider for a biopsy and diagnosis. Causes include tobacco and alcohol use, as well as local irritation.ย  #case_study ๐Ÿ”Ž๐Ÿฆทโœจ @dental_case_study
