Bekantan is a reddish-brown monkey with a long and big nose. Its weight is about 6-22 kilograms and its height is around 55 to 76 cm. Its scientific name is Nasalis larvatus. Bekantans are grouped as arboreal animals.
Bekantans use their long and big nose to attract mates. They use it to impress females or to intimidate rival males. The other unique characteristics of Bekantans is that they can swim. They do this to escape their predators such as crocodiles and cross rivers to find food.
