They claim this is different because of the existing community loyalty, but that is just a fancy way of saying a bunch of people are trapped in the ecosystem. If they dont deliver on some fake governance promise soon, the whole thing will bleed out. It is a classic move to onboard new users just to squeeze them for liquidity.
