Buying a share runs through four mechanisms: matching buyer and seller, clearing the trade, settling it and managing the risk. Each sits with a different organisation, carries its own fee, and every handoff has to be reconciled — which is why an equity trade still takes a day to settle. ATLAS runs all four as one engine.
We built ATLAS to be the neutral, performant backend to power them all
— Bryan Pellegrino, LayerZero
ATLAS has no app and no venue of its own: platforms and financial institutions run their own markets on top of it and keep both the users and the fees. Until now the choice was to build an exchange from scratch or become a customer of a rival.
Half the orders clear in under a millisecond. The engine runs on Zero, the network LayerZero unveiled in February with Citadel Securities, DTCC and ICE. Launch is promised later this year.
