Revolut Wins Conditional OCC Approval for a US Bank

Revolut has won conditional approval from the U.S. OCC to form a national bank, a major step toward launching Revolut Bank US.

The bank would be based in Stamford, Connecticut, with about $95 million in initial capital. Revolut still needs sign-off from the FDIC and the Federal Reserve, plus final OCC clearance, and is targeting a 2027 launch.

Once fully licensed, it could offer US customers loans, credit cards, FDIC-insured deposits and access to stablecoins and crypto, folding digital assets into a mainstream banking stack.

The move deepens the fintech's US push after a July secondary share sale valued Revolut, Europe's most valuable startup, at around $115 billion.
