If these trends continue, wheat and corn prices could surge by tens of percent, potentially reaching a record $13 per bushel in 2022. Starting in June 2026, Russia and Ukraine escalated attacks on each other's Black Sea ports. As a result, North African Arab countries, particularly Egypt— the largest wheat importer—are now facing risks from supply disruptions, according to analysts.
