Citi to launch Bitcoin custody service by end of 2026 American bank Citi has confirmed that its digital asset custody service will launch this year, with Bitcoin set to be the platform's first cryptocurrency. According to The Block, the service will become part of a new offering called Custody+, which will combine traditional and cryptocurrency custody into a single system. In November 2025, the bank had already announced such plans, and has now clarified the timeline. Additionally, Citi is developing tokenized deposit infrastructure with plans to launch in the first half of 2027. The Custody+ platform will also offer real-time settlements, ensuring liquidity for instruments, as well as AI analytics.
