Peace vs Avoidance:

By now, you must be aware that peace is either love or fear of consequences.
Let's call the Peace arising out of fear of consequences as "Type-2 Peace" aka T2-Peace.

T2-Peace is a balance (equilibrium) between two or more forces. It's has a cost attached to it. To achieve T2-Peace you are required to contribute your force to the equilibrium. So, T2-peace is an earned situation.

OTOH, Avoidance bears no immediate cost to you, so it's not an earned situation. Rather, it bills your future self, because momentum is the absence of balance and its impact is felt the most by the least contributing participant.
Unlike T2-Peace, avoidance requires no input from your end.

For a NPC, avoidance feels like peace until the impact arrives.

For a Patriarch (stakeholder), T2-peace feels like an investment for the future self.

Avoidance is time-dilated liability for the future self.
