Geographic Tongue(Benign Migratory Glossitis): A benign inflammatory condition of the tongue characterized by migratory red, depapillated patches on the dorsal and lateral surfaces, often with a white or yellow border, giving a “geographic” appearance. Etiology: The exact cause is unknown; it is likely multifactorial with genetic and immunological factors, and may be associated with stress and Psoriasis. Clinical Features: * Migratory erythematous patches with loss of filiform papillae * Relapsing and remitting course * Usually asymptomatic * Mild burning or sensitivity, especially with spicy or acidic foods.
