🇺🇸 📉 🍼Demographic data on births and fertility over the last several years makes clear that Non Hispanic Black fertility is cratering to historic levels in the United States. In fact, Black Americans may have the lowest fertility rate of any major group in the U.S. by 2030 (including Asians).
There is no indication of a Black American fertility floor and the fact that up to 50% of Black American women may remain childless based on current data for women aged 18-44 makes a TFR of ~1.0 a likely future level. That is almost as low as that of China.
