The AfD in Saxony-Anhalt won 39 of the 83 seats. Almost 45% of the vote and 48% of the seats, even though the polls predicted 40%. High participation with a quarter of a million working people who did not vote before, but now do. Usually more than 43% of the vote, means more than 50% of the seats, but two parties - The Green Party and the left-conservative BSW surprised and got enough votes to win seats. The AfD is therefore three seats short of forming a government. A month of negotiations lies ahead. It is unlikely that a government without the AfD will materialize.
