Latest Updates from the Taiz and Al-Hudaydah Fronts, September 6🟡Clashes on the western axis of Taiz Governorate have intensified since the morning of September 3 along two fronts: the Hameer–Al-Kadaha axis and the Al-Barah front. Yemeni armed forces, alongside popular committees and backed by suicide drones and Rajoom hexacopters, have advanced on the northern and western fronts of Al-Kadaha and have seized control of Jabal Nu'man and Jabal Sheikh Sa'eed.
✍️ The significance of Jabal Nu'man lies in its role in consolidating the Yemeni army's positions in Al-Kadaha. Jabal Nu'man is lower in elevation than Jabal Habashi, but it serves as a considerable barrier against attacks by Saudi coalition forces on the Al-Kadaha area. In past years, forces of the resigned government managed to push the Yemeni army out of the Jabal Habashi heights, but those heights remain under the control of forces affiliated with the Islah Party and could easily be recaptured should Yemeni forces launch an operation. In recent years, Ansarallah has made considerable efforts to hold these positions, in order to maintain its presence near the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the port of Al-Mokha, and most importantly, to preserve the western front of Taiz.
👉 Meanwhile, on the Hays axis, Yemeni armed forces have intensified their attacks, and Tariq Saleh's forces are putting up resistance on the northern outskirts of Hays town. Tariq Saleh's forces have withdrawn from Jabal Dabbas, ceding this strategic elevation—which plays a key role in securing Hays—to the Yemeni armed forces. With this advance, the ground has been prepared for Yemeni fighters to liberate this town and the coastal town of Al-Khawkhah.
🟡The continuation of this momentum has thoroughly drained the military capacity of Tariq Saleh's forces, and his command structure is certainly unable to withstand the attacks by the Yemeni armed forces. This has prompted the Saudi coalition command to deploy other forces under its control—such as the Al-Amalqah or Al-Dira' Al-Watan forces—to this front, in order to prevent the possibility of a rapid Ansarallah advance toward the port of Al-Mokha. In this regard, Hamdi Shukri has traveled to Al-Mokha, and Al-Amalqah forces have launched an offensive on the southern front of Al-Jarahi to block the advance of Yemeni armed forces. There have also been reports of Tariq Saleh fleeing to the UAE, though these remain unconfirmed at this time.
