Even question the version of yourself who was absolutely certain five years ago.

Keep what survives your deepest examination.
Release what doesn’t.
And give everyone else the dignity of doing the same.
I don’t want people to believe what I believe.
I want people to become so deeply acquainted with themselves that they no longer need anyone, including me, to tell them what their truth must be.
Because at the end of my life, I don’t need to be able to say:
“I believed the right things.”
I want to be able to say:
I WAS HERE.
I questioned.
I explored.
I listened.
I changed.
I loved people I disagreed with.
I remained curious.
I refused to make a prison out of certainty.
And whatever truth I carried…
I arrived at it awake.
I lived my own life.
Not perfectly.
Not unquestionably.
But consciously.
And it was mine.
Maybe that is one of the greatest freedoms available to a human being:
A mind open enough to learn from everyone…
and free enough to belong to no one.
