Scindia laid the foundation stone of India's 7th Postal Training Centre at Kakarvaya, Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh. ◉ The centre will serve as a national-level training facility for postal employees. ◉ It will focus on equipping the postal workforce with modern skills and emerging technologies. ◉ Postal employees from Madhya Pradesh will no longer need to travel nearly 600 km for training. ◉ Shivpuri was selected because of its central location and connectivity within Madhya Pradesh. Existing Postal Training Centres ◉ The Department of Posts already operates 6 Postal Training Centres at: → Saharanpur → Vadodara → Mysuru → Guwahati → Madurai → Darbhanga ◉ These six centres collectively train approximately 2,000 personnel annually. ◉ With Shivpuri, the total number of Postal Training Centres in India will become 7. Renovated Shivpuri Head Post Office ◉ Minister Scindia also inaugurated the renovated Shivpuri Head Post Office. ◉ The post office has been modernised according to the design guidelines of the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi. ◉ It features Jan Sewa Connect, a multi-purpose citizen facilitation centre.
