A five-storey PG in Satya Niketan, near Delhi University’s South Campus, collapsed on Sunday. At least Eight people mostly Students have died, several are critically injured, and the rescue operation has been searching for others who may still be trapped.
The building was reportedly 40–50 years old, and repair work was underway in its basement when it collapsed.
These were young people. Students who had come to Delhi with books in their bags and dreams in their eyes.
Someone was preparing for an exam. Someone was calling home. Someone was planning what to do after graduation. Someone's mother was probably waiting for a phone call.
And then, in a matter of seconds, a building came down and perhaps an entire family's future came down with it.
