Dearest students,
We humbly invite you to a Palestinian Student Support Group, held on the 5th of December, from 13.00 to 15.00 at the Dr. Çağkan Ubay Conference room in A building, Main Campus.
The purpose of the support group is to normalize and validate our Palestinian students' feelings of stress, grief, and anxiety related to the current circumstances occurring in Palestine. At this support group, we aim to provide our Palestinian students with a platform to talk about their feelings and experiences, as well as find strength, belongingness, and unity within themselves and others.
The support will include a short presentation about the psychological effects of political stress, as well as how to use activism to cope with the events in Palestine. The presentation will be followed by a group discussion which will be led by the Psychologist Soraya Raeispour, alongside Psychologists of Palestinian Origin, Leen Arar and Obiedah Abduallah. Finally, the support group will end with a collective art project, aiming to promote hope, solidarity, and the Palestinian identity.
