🏃 3 Simple Exercises With Big Benefits
You don't need complicated equipment or exhausting workouts to add more movement to your day.
Some basic movements involve several areas at once — muscles, joints, balance, coordination and everyday mobility.
1. Squats — a movement you use every day 🦵
Sitting down, standing up, climbing stairs and getting out of a chair all involve coordinated movement from the hips, knees and ankles.
A controlled squat involves the major muscles of the lower body while also challenging balance and coordination.
Try: 2–3 sets of 8–15 slow, controlled repetitions.
2. Push-Ups — more than a chest exercise 💪
Push-ups involve the chest, shoulders, arms and core, while requiring you to control your body throughout the movement.
If a full push-up is too demanding, perform it against a wall or with your hands elevated on a stable surface.
The goal is to maintain good control rather than chase a specific number of repetitions.
Try: 2–3 sets of 5–12 controlled repetitions.
3. Walking — one of the simplest forms of movement 🚶
Walking involves continuous coordination between the feet, legs, hips, trunk and arms.
It's also an easy way to add more movement to your daily routine.
Try: Make walking part of your day, gradually adjusting the duration or pace according to your fitness level.
🧠 The bigger lesson
Exercise doesn't have to be complicated to be valuable.
Squats involve the lower body.
Push-ups involve the upper body and core.
Walking keeps the whole body moving.
The most useful exercise is often not the most spectacular one — it is the movement you can perform consistently and comfortably.
Small movements can be easier to include consistently than occasional intense workouts.
