Recounting the story of Lut in surah al-A'raf, Allah says:
[فَأَنجَيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَهُ كَانَتْ مِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ * وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا ۖ فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ]
So We saved him and his family, except for his wife; she was one of those who stayed behind. * And We rained down a rain on them. So look at how the final outcome was for the criminals. [83-84]
Commenting on this, ibn Taymiyah wrote: Whoever is pleased with a people's action will be raised up with them on the Day of Resurrection just as Lut's wife will be raised with her people despite not having committed the reprehensible act of liwat - for that is something that women cannot do. However, since she was pleased with their act then the punishment afflicted her alongside them.
