Allah commands in surah al-Nur [24]:
[قُل لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَغُضُّوا مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِمْ وَيَحْفَظُوا فُرُوجَهُمْ]
Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and to guard their private parts. [30]
Someone asked al-Junayd about what can help someone to lower their gaze. He replied, "Knowing that Allah is already looking at you before you looking at whatever you are looking at."
