Term Finance loses $8.5M in governance exploit: DeFi lending protocol Term Finance was attacked on August 23, with roughly $8.5M in ETH and USDC drained from its vaults. An investigation is ongoing. The Sandbox halts cross-chain SAND bridge: The Sandbox suspended bridging between Base and BNB Chain after discovering a vulnerability that allowed attackers to mint unbacked SAND. MANTRA Chain halts after exploit: MANTRA stopped block production after an upstream software vulnerability was exploited, sending OM to a record low. Solana speeds up block production: Solana has activated its first major performance upgrade, reducing slot time from around 400ms to 350ms, with further reductions planned.
