Sayyed Ali al-Sistani Mourns the Passing of Ayatollah al-Shubayri al-Zanjani
Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali al-Hussaini al-Sistani issued the following statement mourning the passing of Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Musa al-Shubayri al-Zanjani.
The following is the translation of his statement:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return.
The departure of the eminent religious authority and jurist of the Ahl al-Bayt of Infallibility and Purity (peace be upon them), Ayatollah Hajj Sayyed Musa al-Shubayri al-Zanjani (may Allah’s mercy be upon him), is a painful calamity and a great loss.
The distinguished deceased, who devoted his entire blessed life to scholarship, research, and teaching, was among the foremost eminent scholars, one of the pillars of the blessed religious seminary in Qom, and a prominent embodiment of the God-conscious scholar.
His valuable scholarly works and other religious services will remain a precious legacy, just as his conduct and practical approach will remain a lasting model for those engaged in religious scholarship.
May Allah elevate his noble station and gather him with his pure and virtuous forefathers.
With profound sorrow and regret, I extend my condolences on this great calamity to the sacred presence of the Master of the Age (may our souls be sacrificed for him), to the religious seminaries, to the respected family of the deceased, particularly his dear and honored sons, and to all believers.
I ask Almighty Allah to grant everyone beautiful patience and abundant reward.
There is no power or strength except through Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.
