Israel is closely monitoring a secret collaboration between Syria and Ukraine in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
According to reports, Damascus and Kyiv have signed a secret agreement, brokered by Ankara, under which Ukrainian experts are expected to train Syrian military personnel in the operation of UAVs. As part of the agreement, two military facilities in Syria are being converted into training centers for UAV operators: one near the village of Yapor in the Damascus region, and the other in the area of the city of Ma'asaf in the Hama region.
In Israel, this development is seen as a potential threat to national security, especially in light of the growing tensions between Jerusalem and Ankara. Israeli security officials are concerned that Turkey may use Syrian territory as a platform for military activity in the event of a future conflict with Israel, and may even rely on the Syrian army as a proxy force.
According to reports, the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad, is currently examining possible steps to thwart or disrupt the establishment of the Syrian army's training centers and to prevent the arrival of Ukrainian experts in Syria.
