Before Wi-Fi, before SIM cards… even before your uncle started sending “GM” messages at 5AM… Ethiopia had zero telecom vibes
Let’s go back to 1894. Emperor looks around and says:
“Hmm… sending messages by horse? Nah, we need SPEED.”
So what does he do? He introduces the first telephone line between Addis Ababa and Harar.
Yep, Ethiopia said “hello?” before many countries even knew what a phone was
But imagine this…
Calling someone back then was basically: “Hello… can you hear me… HELLOOOO??” and the line is cutting like bad 4G in 2026 
Still, this was BIG.
It was the start of Ethiopia connecting itself slowly moving from letters and messengers to wires and signals.
