AI has transformed ethnography: AI, social media, algorithms, and deepfakes have fundamentally changed how knowledge is created, shared, and consumed, creating a global crisis of truth that directly affects ethnographic research. Platform capitalism drives post-truth: The article argues that AI-powered digital platforms prioritize engagement and profit over factual accuracy, making post-truth a structural outcome of platform capitalism rather than merely individual misinformation. Anthropology must move beyond relativism: While anthropology values multiple perspectives, excessive focus on "many truths" can weaken its ability to expose global power structures. The discipline should reclaim truth as a tool for critical analysis. Proposal of Planetary Ethnography: The author proposes Planetary Ethnography, which combines ethnographic fieldwork with the study of AI, platform capitalism, history, and power, enabling anthropology to "speak truth to power" in addressing contemporary global crises.
