According to the New York Times, the supply problems aboard the aircraft carrier "USS Abraham Lincoln" are a direct result of the Iranian strikes that destroyed the majority of the U.S. Navy's logistical infrastructure in Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman.
The Iranian attacks at the beginning of the war focused on disrupting the supply lines to the aircraft carrier group, forcing the U.S. Navy to rely on the small island of "Diego Garcia," which is 3,500 kilometers away from the Gulf of Oman.
